I am beyond excited to be a new resident of the Reeltown community. I am a graduate of Auburn University where I spent the four years progressing as a student in the college of Human Sciences and as a horse enthusiast. I was a member of the Auburn University Equestrian team and just so happen to set up a farm call with a vet student named Andrew Lovelady. Now 11 years later God has moved our relationship forward in a mighty way. Not only is Andrew my husband, but he is my project manager on the farm, my best friend, my child raising assistant, my co-chef in our home kitchen, my vet, my sounding board, my accountability partner, my hot date, my editor and my spiritual leader. Together we are enjoying raising our three precious daughters, Aubrey, Carly, and Emmy. Andrew is currently a professor at Tuskegee University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, specializing in large animal reproduction. I recently finished my Master’s degree in school counseling, but have focused this year on transitioning my family into our new life in Reeltown.  We have absolutely loved everything this little town has to offer and it has made a big impression on us in the short time we have been here.

Which leads me to being called into children’s ministry…It all started with some early mornings and a group of ladies I met several months ago.  Most of these ladies are members of FBCR and I saw the Lord working through them.  I saw genuineness and hearts of pure gold.  These ladies welcomed, inspired, encouraged and loved me as a new member in the community and a sister in Christ. During this transitional time I had been torn about my purpose in Reeltown, what was I going to do with my time and God given talents? I prayed for doors to open and never did I imagine this would all transpire. God answered those prayers and used these ladies  in a mighty way to motivate me and my family to pursue FBCR as our church home.

I have a long history of teaching both in church and in public schools. I know what it is like to be a child that has questions and is seeking the truth. I didn't have a personal relationship with Christ until I was 19 years old and since that day I have wanted others to see Him with such clarity. He is real, and I want children to experience that first hand. My passion is children and sharing the truth of Christ, I just haven’t had a time in life when I could serve in this capacity due to work and personal commitments. This year God opened this door wide and I saw an opportunity to invest in the children right outside my back door. I love seeing these young children seeking Christ, digging deeper into His word, making special memories at church, praying with open hearts, and developing Christian friendships. My favorite part is getting to show them the love of Christ by being His vessel. This year as the Children’s ministry continues to grow, love, give and go places; I am excited to see God at work. I have served in various roles for Sav-A-Life, a Christian ministry for women experiencing crisis pregnancies. I have served on the board of a humane society and also spent time leading students in adopt-a-mile programs. Outside of that I try to meet the needs of my family. I am a domestic engineer, who finds great satisfaction in warm meals, clean clothes, an organized house, finished homework, a well maintained farm and a relaxing environment for my family to enjoy. It is by no means perfect, but it is so satisfying to care for all God has given me. It is a full time job, but I thank God daily for the opportunity I have to serve in our home. God’s grace amazes me.

My greatest accomplishment or should I say the event of greatest magnitude in my life was seeking Christ on my own as a teenager.  I finally took responsibility and built up the courage to ask the right questions to trusted Christian friends about what was missing in my life. With out me stepping up and getting out of my comfort zone I might have gone my whole life with out hearing the gospel, the plan of salvation. I am so thankful that I wanted to know more and didn't worry about what others thought.  It was the greatest accomplishment of my young adult life…seeking a personal relationship with Christ.

Use the time God has given you and be intentional. My challenge to myself and others is to look very hard at how you are spending your dash. 1982-? That little line referred to as the dash, sums up my existence on Earth. What have I done for God’s kingdom, how have I spent my time, what are my priorities, was I intentional, and lastly did I use my God given talents to glorify Him? Today will never be repeated…I challenge myself and everyone else to make good use of your dash and at the end of life as we know it, I pray He will be pleased and say well done. This is something I reflect on often and I pray it has a positive impact on you.
